Join us for Melbourne Comp Crawlers Inc. ROUND 3 crawl meet for 2025! A bunch of us like-minded hobbyists will be enjoying some time on the rocks with our crawlers. You’re welcome to join us to run some courses and just hang out at Lakeside, Pakenham, on Sunday Aug 3rd.
** As always, your safety is your responsibility! **
We’ll be on public land and just driving toy trucks together. This is not any kind of official event. Rocks can be slippery. It’ll be cold and possibly wet. If you have a child and/or pet with you, their supervision and safety is completely your responsibility. Please be careful!
WHEN
Sunday, 3 August 2024, 10:00-16:00 (end time may vary, pending numbers)
WHERE
Location: Waterford Rise Gardens, 9 The Circuit, Pakenham VIC 3810
G Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RBAYqXa6hTcxgcKT9
PARKING
Parking is along the street by the rock garden. Please be mindful of not parking in people’s driveways or too near to the corners. Also be aware this street has a public bus route, so please try to leave enough room for the bus to squeeze through!
New for this comp: Please don’t park along the side of the comp area. It isn’t legal (adjacent an intersection) and some locals have taken issue with it in the past. For the sake of this and future comps, gear drop-off is fine but please then park down a nearby street.
TOILETS & FOOD
There are toilets just down the road, a couple minutes walk, at the playground by the lake. Shops and cafes are 5 mins drive away. There are no toilets directly onsite.
NOTES
- Dress for winter, bring water and have a plan for if it rains (we’ll still run).
- Rocks can be slippery; boots or closed shoes are advisable.
- There are no bins here. Please carry out what you carry in.
- Lastly, we’re in a public area surrounded by houses. We’ll have signage up for the club. Please be mindful of the locals’ expectation of peace and driveway access.
COST – $0
CLASSES & SCHEDULE
We’ll be running 6 classes: Scale-1 (C1), Performance Scale (C2), Tuff Truck (C3), Mini 1.9, Sportsman 2.2, Pro MOA 2.2.
We’re going to run all-day courses for all classes. A few of us will set the courses from dawn, and then from comp start you can find a friend or two and run together and score each other over the day. No stress, no rush, no disappointment!
Briefing will be at 10am. Group photo and AGM will be 11am-ish (AGM will only take a few minutes).
Here’s what you need to do when you arrive:
- Find the MCC table and complete a waiver form. This is required to participate in this event, even if you’ve filled one in before.
- Get your car/s to the table to have them checked and cleared to run.
- Find a person or people to score your runs. The aim is to take turns driving and scoring with each other/your group. We’ll be using crawlerresults.com. Site password will be at the table.
- Run your car/s in the appropriate courses for your class. Have fun!
All classes will have 5 courses to run. They’ll be marked clearly from #1 to #5. Be sure to match this with your scoring on crawlerresults.com when doing your runs.
More info on Classes: https://melbournecompcrawlers.com.au/2023/02/08/wrcca-ruleset-a-quick-primer/
With all courses set for the day, you should be free to run whatever you’ve got in whatever order you like, whenever you like. Come back to the table or find the MCC guys (Craig, Martin, Simon, Toby, Adam) if you need a hand, directions, first aid, life advice or to discuss whether Eric should be excluded from TT participation and put in a class of his own. If you’re in doubt about what class your rig/s will suit, ask in the FB group here and/or just turn up on the day. We’ll work it out! 🙂
We’ll run our club’s second annual AGM during around 11am (proforma agenda and club financials doc may be downloaded here) . The AGM should only take a short time. All people present are welcome and encouraged to attend. This presentation may be recorded on video.
